Oscar is dedicated to people over 50. We think that we deserve a better deal. We also believe that we get a rum deal on information about what's on offer and how to get it.
We, at Oscar, are a group of folk who have a vision that over 50s should get a much fairer distribution of the cake. There are 21 million of us in the UK over 50. So we set out to redress the balance.
Oscar is a money making concern, it has to be or we couldn't bring you the benefits we do. But we believe in a kind of new mutuality, where everyone benefits. So whilst we hope to make a few bob, we genuinely hope you feel better informed and get a better deal too!
The idea was conceived 4 years ago by Denny Collie and David Douce, as Senior Concessions. We are still registered as Senior Concessions Ltd but now use Oscar as our trading name as we feel that is a little friendlier all round. Denny finds all our concessions and puts them on the database. David is our editor and leads our campaigns for the over 50s. They have been joined by Glenn Patterson - a creative marketer and business leader, Chris Henry - a cricketer who finds time to do selling in his spare time, and Andy Watson - our numbers man. They are all Directors of Intermarketing and Communications Ltd, a Branding, Direct Response and Retail agency. Then there is Liz and Peter Simpson; Liz is our MD and keeps us all in good shape; Peter, our Chairman, is one of the UK's top marketing people.
So that's us; we hope you like what we have to offer you.
